Getting Lash Extensions at the Lash Lounge

Over the past couple of years, I have been debating whether or not I should get lash extensions. I’ve always loved the look of them but I was afraid to make the commitment! When Lash Lounge reached out to me to try lash extensions, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to finally make the leap and now I absolutely love them!

The Process

The lash extension process itself takes about an hour and a half. First the lash artist cleanses your lashes and then tapes down your bottom lashes so that they are out of the way. Then she maps out where she will place the lashes and gets started. What’s nice about it is that you actually get to lay down with a blanket and relax while the lash artist places your lashes. I actually fell asleep during the process! It does get a little uncomfortable towards the end but beauty is pain ;D

Maintenance

After you get lash extensions, you need to avoid getting them wet for 24 hours. You can’t use any oil based cleansers, makeup removers, or mascara on your lashes but Lash Lounge actually sells makeup remover and mascara that are safe for your lashes. I have not worn an once of makeup since getting my lashes because I just don’t feel like I need it, so I haven’t had to worry about using anything oil based on my lashes.

How Often Do You Need Refills?

Your lash extensions are attached to your natural lashes, so when your real lashes shed naturally, the lash extensions sheds with it. I actually lose a crazy amount of lashes naturally so my lash fall out is probably a lot sooner then most! As long as you avoid touching and rubbing your eyes, you shouldn’t have to any fall out. I also like to make sure they don’t get squished when I’m sleeping at night!

You are supposed to get your lash extensions refilled about every two weeks (about $75). If you don’t mind your lashes looking a bit skimpy, you can probably wait for a month before getting them re-filled. It just depends on what you prefer!

What Lashes Did I Get?

I ended up doing a hybrid which is in between the classic and the dramatic lashes. You can do mink or silk lashes and I ended up doing silk. The lash artist will explain the differences to you when you go in!

BEFORE

After

I love how confident my lash extensions make me feel! I actually feel pretty when I wake up in the morning without makeup and I don’t even worry about going out without makeup anymore. The lashes also help me look a lot more awake which is a huge benefit!

If you live in the Portland area, I definitely recommend Lash Lounge for your lash extensions! The location I visited was in Beaverton 🙂 Also, let me know if you guys have any questions in the comments below and I will do my best to answer them!
