At the end of June, we celebrated my 28th birthday. For some reason this birthday has made me reflect a lot on where I’m at in life. Probably because it’s a little to close for comfort to 30! I’m not scared of getting older or anything like that, but I can’t help feeling like I haven’t accomplished as much as I wanted to by this age. I’m very driven and goal oriented so when I don’t feel like I’m achieving enough I start to get down on myself. A couple of the big goals I was hoping to have by now were getting married, buying a house, starting a family…

Schyler and I were itching to take a road trip to a new city we hadn’t been to yet so we decided to check out Buffalo! One of the amazing things about living in Pittsburgh is that there are so many cities we can easily road trip to. Buffalo is only about 3 1/2 hours from Pittsburgh so it was perfect or a quick day and half trip. We also decided to road trip 30 min outside of Pittsburgh to see Niagra Falls which definitely made it a memorable trip. Ever since moving to Pittsburgh, my favorite thrift store has been Thriftique in Lawrenceville! They have an amazing selection of clothes for men, women, and children as well as furniture. I almost always find exactly what I’m looking for on my visits there which is awesome! This thrift store is actually ran by the NCJW (National Council of Jewish Women) and they are a non profit so their proceeds benefit women and children in need in Pittsburgh. In this blog post I wanted to share some of the amazing pieces I’ve thrifted there this season in a Spring Look Book! When I thrift there, I’m always focused on finding quality basics that are timeless, easy to mix and match, and will last. I recently learned these pieces are called elevated basics 😉

I am a huge fan of rugs and had been wanting to find the right ones for our Pittsburgh apartment for awhile! I had some rugs that my parents gave me from Colombia but they weren’t the right size for the spaces I had in mind so it was time for a makeover! I had seen some amazing looking rugs from Ruggable and what really drew me to them was the fact that their rugs are machine washable. My apartment sees a lot of life between the three of us so long term, a machine washable rug seemed like the perfect choice!

I can’t believe it’s been over a year that we picked up and moved across the country in my Jeep to Nashville then Pittsburgh! We have been living in Pittsburgh now for a little over 6 months and I am happy to say that we are almost 80% done decorating our new apartment. It was challenging to decorate after starting over from scratch in a much bigger space but it’s going to be amazing when everything is “finished”. I had been searching + envisioning the perfect armchairs for the reading/coffee nook in our living room for so many ones and then finally found the perfect ones on Burrow.
