Easy Bath Salts DIY
It’s so important to pamper yourself and de-stress! What better way to do so than taking a luxurious bath with bath salts? This is one of my favorite ways to recharge; I like to light scented candles and listen to some mellow music too. Also, Mother’s Day is coming up and this would be a great and simple DIY gift for under $10! My mom loves taking baths, so this gift is perfect for her. Bonus: a lot of these ingredients are items you may already have in your kitchen or bathroom cabinet.
You will need:
1 1/2 cup Epsom Salt
1/4 cup baking soda
1/2 cup sea salt
A few drops of food or soap coloring.
A few drops of your favorite essential oils.
A mixing bowl, measuring cups, and a container.
Directions:
To start off, pour 1 1/2 cups of Epsom salt into a mixing bowl. You can find Epsom salt at just about any grocery store.
Add a 1/2 cup of sea salt to the Epsom salt. I bought the larger chunks of sea salt for a better texture.
Then add a 1/4 cup of baking soda to the mixture and give everything a stir.
Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture. I would have preferred to use soap coloring but I couldn’t find any at my local grocery store. Food coloring works fine though! I chose to use a purple dye since my bath salts are lavender scented. Make sure to stir in the food coloring really well to get the dye to spread evenly. Mine turned out to be this beautiful lilac color.
Add a few drops of your favorite essential oils as the final touch. I used lavender essential oil for mine. Voila! You have yourself some luxurious bath salts.
