My First Valentine’s Day With Baby Sage

I couldn’t resist doing a Valentine’s Day themed photo shoot with newborn baby Sage. He was only 12 days old when my mom shot these photos of us, such a little guy! I wanted to keep the photos simple so I picked up this $4 Valentine’s balloon from Safeway as a prop and we drove around till we found a white wall. Sage wore this rusty adorable jumpsuit his abuelita bought for him at a boutique in Eastern Washington and I wore a coordinated, retro style look with new pieces from Sezane. We had about 15 min to shoot before baby boy get fussy which was just enough time to snap a few cute photos that we will have forever. The perfect way to remember our first Valentine’s Day together!

Over the Christmas holiday, my parents took my sister and I to Tombstone to explore this historic, cowboy themed town! My mom had already taken a few friends to this tourist spot but the rest of us had never been so it was very exciting. The town was decorated for Christmas with a big tree in the center which I of course had to get some photos with! It’s about an hour southeast of Tucson so you can easily add it to your itinerary if you are planning a trip to Tucson or southern Arizona.

The holidays have been a little hard for me this year needless to say, after having spent them with a partner for the past 10 years and now spending them very pregnant and single. As hard as they have been this year, I know the holidays will be very joyful when I get to spend them with my baby boy in the years to come. I have been so exhausted lately but I still trekked out to a local nursery here in the Phoenix area to shoot some pictures on my tripod to remember the Christmas I was 8 months pregnant with him and I’m so glad I did! Even though my camera charger blew out when I plugged it in to try to sneak in a few more photos. Tis the season lol.

I am currently nearing the end of my third trimester and I have been so exhausted! I debated whether or not to try and do a Halloween costume this year… I have been so exhausted going into the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy and I thought maybe it would be better not to add extra stress to my plate. But then I thought this might be the only Halloween I ever experience while being pregnant, so I decided I better do it. The day before Halloween this Winnie the Pooh maternity Halloween costume idea came to me. I had seen it on Pinterest earlier in the month and realized it would be super easy for me to pull together with pieces I already had and a little thrifting. My mom took me to a pumpkin patch in the Gilbert area of Arizona called Mother Nature’s Farm. I was very excited to get some maternity photos at the pumpkin patch with my 6 month pregnant belly! It was a little bit of a fiasco trying to snap these photos because two school buses full of children arrived and there were surprisingly a lot of families there on a Tuesday at open. That’s okay though lol, the pumpkin patch is for everyone to enjoy obviously and we were able to manage to get some good shots. I can’t believe how much baby boy has grown and it was so funny seeing the comparison between my baby bump and a mini orange pumpkin!

While scouting for new local shops in our hometown of Tri-Cities, WA (I can’t believe we’ve been back a month already!) we found this amazing heart mural! It’s located in the alley of the Uptown Mall in Richland, WA where I used to work once upon a time. I knew it would be perfect for a fun Valentine’s themed photo shoot and it certainly was! 😉

Since we have been back home in Tri-Cities, WA, Schyler and I have been amazed at how many cute shops, murals, and new businesses have opened in the past 6+ years we’ve been gone! We saw this white brick wall while scouting for photo spots and antiquing at the retro Uptown Mall in Richland and thought it would be perfect for a fun Valentine’s photo shoot. These vintage inspired looks were very fitting for the location 😉 We picked up these fun pink and red balloons, the perfect prop for a Valentine’s shoot!

I couldn’t help but round up some of the super cute Valentine’s decor I was spotting at Target! These finds are perfect for a Valentine’s (or Galentine’s day ;)!) party but would make very cute gift ideas for someone special too. I won’t really be decorating this year as we aren’t in our own place right now (we are temporarily staying with Schyler’s dad) but it was really fun for me to put this together and I hope it’s helpful for those of you looking for some Valentine’s day inspo.
