A Mini Travel Guide To Bend, Oregon
I am finally getting around to sharing what we did in Bend during our Central Oregon visit with my parents. I have come to terms with the fact that as a momma, it takes me a little while longer to get things done and that’s totally ok lol! During our week in Central Oregon we stayed at Eagle Crest in Redmond and drove to Bend to spend the day. I have been to Bend a few times over the years and loved it so I was excited to check it out again and share some spots I loved. I’m so lucky that I have been able to do so much traveling with my baby boy Sage Wylder! I love that I am making and capturing these special memories with him. I have been sharing our family travels in these “mini travel guides” where I like to highlight where we ate, where we shopped, and what we did which I hope you guys enjoy and find helpful for your travels!
Where To Eat
Still Vibrato
Our first stop in Bend was for coffee at Still Vibrato. I love craft coffee and Oregon has some of the best in my opinion! I am a little biased of course after living in Portland for 5 years lol. I love checking out the local coffee shops whenever I am touring a city, I always just do a quick Google search and find a spot that I think looks cute. It’s located in the lobby of an apartment building and there are several cool restaurants and other spots in the development as well. I loved the industrial vibes and the barista’s were super friendly as well!

Grove Market
I love a good food hall! I always find myself gravitating towards them when I am touring a new city, especially if you are traveling with your family or other people because everyone can get whatever they want with several food vendors to choose from. I loved the industrial vibes and nods to the Pacific Northwest in the interiors of the Grove Market Food Hall. There is a market, a cocktail bar, several local food vendors, and Thump coffee is located in the food hall as well! My mom and I split a delicious tuna sandwich and fries that totally hit the spot.

Sparrow Bakery
Sparrow Bakery is a spot I loved visiting with my sister and my friend Tonya on our girls trip to Bend over five years ago! They had a new location near Grove Market Food Hall in the Summit West neighborhood of Bend near Compass park. There are so many cool boutiques, restaurants, and shops to check out in this area so after eating at Grove Market, we did some shopping and had an afternoon coffee and pastries at Sparrow Bakery. I had a delicious chocolate croissant (my favorite) but they are known for their Morning Roll!

Where To Shop
Iron Horse Antiques
I love an antique store and this has to be one of the best I have ever been to! There were so many amazing finds at Iron Horse Antiques and the prices were very fair. A lot of the times the prices are very steep at these antique stores so I really liked that. I would have taken home so many things if I could of! My mom ended up getting me this really pretty southwestern style ceramic wall hanging and my dad got a great deal and a pair of antlers that he brought in his suitcase all the way back to Phoenix.

Found
I loved this shop in downtown Bend when I visited with my sister and friend Tonya, so I was really happy to visit Found again! They have an amazing collection of natural goods, artisan clothing, vintage finds, books, clean beauty products and more. Everything in this shop is totally my aesthetic! I definitely recommend popping in if you are already planning on exploring in Bend’s historic downtown area.

Dutch & Bow
Another great boutique located in downtown Bend, just across the street from Found! Dutch & Bow had such a cute vibe and I loved the bohemian aesthetic of the clothing, shoes, and accessories for women in this curated shop. It’s the perfect spot to drop into if you are looking for a cute outfit during your visit to Bend.
Address: 217 NW Oregon Ave, Bend, OR 97703
Root Adorned
I love plants so I was so excited when I saw this shop located a few doors down from Sparrow Bakery. My parents stayed with Sage while I quickly popped over there to check it out! The owner of Root Adorned was so kind and I really enjoyed getting to know her a bit while exploring her shop. I almost bought an all natural perfume I had my eye on that smelled amazing but then my mom called because Sage was crying lol. Anyway her plant collection was absolutely amaing!

West Coast Provisions
I love shops like this! West Coast Provisions is a general store with a curated selection of groceries, wine, chocolate, gifts, cards, and more. These are specialty items many of which are from Oregon makers and brands. This shop is located across the street from Root Adorned. I loved all the shopping and restaurants in this neighborhood, so I would definitely head here if you are visiting Bend for the day.

What To Do
Greetings From Bend Mural
During all my years of traveling, I have always loved taking photos with “Greetings From” murals if the city I am visiting has one. I have always loved colorful murals but these always have depictions of iconic places or things in their city. I thought this would be a fun, special tradition to continue with Sage over the years! So this was our first one, the “Greetings From Bend Mural”. If you want to take a photo with the mural too, it’s located on the side of US Bank in Bend.
Eagle Crest
During our week in central Oregon we stayed at the Eagle Crest Lodge in Redmond. You don’t have to be staying there to visit though so I would recommend checking it out if you can! There are several trails and hikes that you can do and restaurants to dine at on the property as well. We loved this bar that had absolutely amazing views of the Deschutes river below. We did a quick hike down to the river where my mom shot these photos of Sage and I and afterwards we ate ice cream at the bar to cool off.
Smith Rock
Smith Rock State Park is a place I remember visiting in my childhood and I have been back as an adult a few times, but it was really special getting to visit with my baby boy! The setting is absolutely gorgeous and I feel like it’s a very iconic place in Oregon. It’s only a 30 min drive from Bend so if you are visiting and have the time, I would definitely recommend squeezing it into your itinerary. There are so many hikes that you can do from family friendly to advanced. I will always remember hiking there as a little girl with my family! It was a little to hot and we were pressed for time so we didn’t do any hikes this time but we did enjoy the look outs.
