Apple Picking Fun on Sauvie Island

I grew up on a cherry farmed turned apple farm but I hadn’t picked apples in years. I asked my friend McKenzie to go apple picking with me this fall. We went to beautiful Douglas Farms on Sauvie Island, which is a U-pick farm with green and red apples. It was a ton of fun taking pictures, exploring the orchard, and picking some yummy apples.

My outfit was perfect for apple picking! I wore a plaid flannel with overalls and a cute hat to finish off the outfit. Here is a similar pair of overalls and a similar flannel that’s on sale.

Most of the red apples had been picked but there were plenty of green apples left. You’ve got to start early in the season to get your pick of the best apples!

Schyler loved the apples! He thought they were even better then the green apples we buy from the grocery store. I would love to take him next year. I think I am going to make apple picking a new fall tradition!

  3. I’ve never picked apples, but I’ve always wanted to! I’ve never seen people pick green apples in pictures that people post, but I enjoy that you have them because it’s a color apple people don’t usually associate with the season. We can’t forget about the green apples! P.S. Love your outfit!

  4. Oh, I love your outfit completely. You look very sweet and appropriate for the occasion. I have never picked fruits as such I would love to visit a farm like this to do so. The fresh apples look so incredible and definitely, they have to be better than the grocery store ones. Also, love your boots and hat.

  6. The one tradition that I have with my family is to drive arrive and look for Halloween decorations. This year I think we started a new one by going to a pumpkin patch. Really cute by the way.
