I am just now getting Sage’s seven and eight month updates up, the months have been flying by! He had his first cold at seven months which was super tough because I was sick too. He started sitting up, and rolling on his own, which he was very pleased about! He also started taking swim lessons, and he loves splashing around in the pool at my parent’s house. This boy was definitely meant to be outside! I couldn’t wait to spend more time outdoors with him when it cooled down here in Arizona. At eight months old Sagie had four teeth and several more are popping through. He loves eating his homemade blends, and going on walks! Nighttime sleep was super tough, and at the end of eight months he was down to two naps during the day. I was super excited to take him on some fall trips, and to experience his first holiday season (my first holiday season as a momma).

When we moved into our new rental house, I was so excited for Sage to have his own nursery! While Sage and I were living at my parent’s house, we had to share a room. Luckily the room was big enough for me to have my bedroom space on one side and his nursery space on the other, but I was really excited to decorate a true nursery room for him. His furniture set from Dadada Baby is so perfect for this modern neutral nursery for baby boy! In this blog post I will be highlighting the furniture and other decorative aspects of Sage Wylder’s new nursery.
I was really excited for the holidays to come up this year because I knew it would be so fun experiencing them with my baby boy Sage for the first time! Andrew and I took Sage to his first pumpkin patch last week and even though it was soooo hot here in the Phoenix area the day we went, we had a ton of fun. The farm we went to had a little petting zoo with goats, cows, horses, sheep, a llama, and even zebras! Sage does seem to love animals, especially Andrew’s dog Arlo, but he wasn’t nearly as excited about them as he was the big orange pumpkins! Those really put a sparkle in his eyes lol.
I can’t believe Sage is now almost 8 months old! I am so behind on getting his 5 and 6 month baby update up because I have been busy with travel content from our Central Oregon trip, brand campaigns, and packing for our move which I will be sharing more about on here soon. So here is a quick recap of Sage’s milestones during these months! He has gotten so much gigglier but he can definitely be very serious and knows how to let us know what he wants lol. I sometimes think to myself how lucky I am to be this special boy’s mom during little moments throughout the weeks. He is changing so much everyday… it really does go by so fast!
At 5 months postpartum, I finally feel like I am getting back to feeling a bit more like myself. After having Sage, the newborn stage was very tough for me, as I was experiencing baby blues, sleep deprivation, and overall just adjusting to life as a new, single mom. In those first few months, you are basically in fight or flight mode so any form of self care really just went out the door for me. I was lucky if I was able to squeeze in a shower! I knew it was a temporary stage, but I did wonder how/when I would get back to doing things for myself. Skincare, wellness, and self care in general have always been very important to me and over the last few months, I have finally found ways to work those things back into my life.
I am finally sitting down to share Sage Wylder’s three and four month updates! As I mentioned in his one and two month update, the newborn phase was tough for me as a new, single momma. Every week gets so much better! Sage was a very serious newborn, but during months three and four, Sage started turning into this smiley, sweet, and curious baby boy. I have been loving these past few months with him and discovering his personality more and more. I feel like we have such a great connection and bond now which is so rewarding as a momma. He is such an amazing baby and I am so proud of him. Enough gushing, let’s get into the updates with tips and mommy must haves I loved as well!
I thought it would be fun to share updates for Sage Wylder’s first year of life! I got a little behind so I’m sharing month one and two together. The first month was a little tough as a new mom, but as the weeks went by, it got better and easier! It’s a little rough being thrown into taking care of a baby for the first time and I definitely had to learn a lot, especially because all babies are so different! Sage has always been very good at communicating his needs (lol!) and I feel like I know him so well now. We have a really good routine down now which is so essential for me as a work from home, single mom. I can’t believe how quickly he is growing and developing, it’s very bittersweet. I am a very proud mama!
My younger sister Rocio was finally able to come down from Los Angeles to meet my son Sage Wylder, who is now 2 months old! While she was visiting, my mom drove us to Superstition Mountain, where Rocio took my full term maternity photos so that we could shoot some family photos together. My mom, sister, and I have never taken photos together for my blog, so it was really special to be able to capture these, especially with baby Sage! There are three generations of my family in these photos that I know we will cherish forever.
The past seven weeks of Sage Wylder’s life have flown by! The first few weeks were tough with sleep deprivation and getting into a flow, but now Sage and I have a bit more of a routine down which makes such a big difference. I knew I wanted to share a blog post with my newborn must haves for other new momma’s out there who like me, did a lot of research to figure out everything I would need for baby. Now that he is almost 2 months old, I feel like I have a good idea of what items were newborn essentials for me. Of course these items will vary as all moms and babies are different, but I think this is a helpful start!
Sage Wylder is a month old?! It makes me so proud and so sad at the same time because I know he will never be this little again… Taking care of a newborn, especially as a single mom, is not easy but he is thriving! He gained 2 pounds and grew 2 inches at his one month wellness check, which makes me feel like I am doing a good job as a momma. I always felt I would be in my heart and now I feel validated lol! I’m going to credit it all to the breastfeeding and of course mama’s love 😉 Anyway, I wanted to take some cute photos in the desert to celebrate his first month of life!
