Life Update + Our Goals For 2022

It’s been awhile since I’ve shared a post about life, goals, or my personal thoughts so I thought it was about time to do an update! The past several years have been such a whirlwind for us! We moved to Nashville from Portland, OR, then moved to Pittsburgh, got engaged, and continued to grow our business all while living through this crazy pandemic. We moved to both locations hoping to be able to travel more easily and to find cheaper rent/houses than in the PNW, but both moves were expensive of course. For those of you that are new here or maybe missed it, we tried to buy a home when we first moved to Pittsburgh almost a year and a half ago now (watch this video here for the story) but we had to back out at the last minute unfortunately, which was super hard for me especially and it was definitely another financial set back.

Schyler and I are celebrating our 8th Valentine’s day together this year! The last couple of years we’ve opted to stay in for Valentine’s rather than going out to dinner and stressing. We love picking out a special recipe to make together for dinner with a bottle of fancy wine while listening to records. During the day, we love indulging in some of our favorite sweets! We started off 2022 by making a conscious effort to cut back on screen time and spend more quality together and it has been so good for us. So a special day dedicated to our love is such a great way to celebrate that!

Visiting A Pennsylvania Christmas Tree Farm

Schyler, my fiance, and I weren’t able to make it out to a x-mas tree farm last year! Normally we buy a real Christmas tree every year but we had recently moved to the area and it just didn’t happen. I really wanted to get back to our usual tradition this year so we visited our first Pennsylvania Christmas tree farm just outside of Pittsburgh. The lighting turned out to be a little tricky to work with in the morning when we visited, but I’m so glad we were able to snap a few photos to remember the moment by with our tripod!

Our Decorated Boho Christmas Apartment + Christmas Photos At Home

I can’t believe Christmas is almost here again… our first year as an engaged couple flew by! Schyler proposed to me during Christmas last year in New York in a magical location in Central Park which was a dream come true. I have been so excited planning fun things and new traditions for us this Christmas! Schyler and I have been together for 8 years and we’ve always taken annual Christmas photos. When Indio joined our little family, he became a part of the tradition! In this blog post I’m sharing our Christmas photos + our boho Christmas decorated Pittsburgh loft apartment. Last year, we had barely any furniture in our apartment, but this year the apartment looks so cozy and homey with our festive decor and I’m obsessed!

Last fall we had just moved in to our apartment and barely had any decor or furniture in it! This fall season our apartment is finally fully decorated so I was actually able to decorate this year. It really feels like home now so I wanted to capture some fall photos at home with my fiance Schyler. We’ve been together going on 8 years now but this is our first fall as an engaged couple so I think that makes it a little extra special 😉 I’ve had this yellow plaid dress for a few years now and thought it would be perfect for a fall touch. We are getting really good at this whole tripod thing now too lol although it’s about time for an upgrade lol. I can’t believe it’s our second fall here in Pittsburgh, but this one is extra special because it’s our first year as an engaged couple! My fiance Schyler and I wanted to celebrate with a fun fall day at the pumpkin patch and of course we had to take some photos to remember it by. We have gone to the pumpkin patch every year for the past 8 years we have been together and I can’t wait to continue the tradition with our family in the future! We got to take a hay ride to the pumpkin patch, the corn maze, and pet some cute farm animals. It reminded me of the animals I grew up with on the farm in eastern Washington!

At the end of June, we celebrated my 28th birthday. For some reason this birthday has made me reflect a lot on where I’m at in life. Probably because it’s a little to close for comfort to 30! I’m not scared of getting older or anything like that, but I can’t help feeling like I haven’t accomplished as much as I wanted to by this age. I’m very driven and goal oriented so when I don’t feel like I’m achieving enough I start to get down on myself. A couple of the big goals I was hoping to have by now were getting married, buying a house, starting a family…

Our Christmas photos look a little different this year! We usually head to the Christmas tree farm but decided to take photos at home instead with Indio and I actually love how they turned out! My sister is coming to visit us this Christmas so I wanted to make our apartment extra cozy and special for the holiday! My interior decor style is bohemian meets mid-century modern and it can be hard to find Christmas ornaments that fit that style so I ended up making my own DIY ornaments and decorating around those.

We moved to Pittsburgh about a month ago (can’t believe how time flies) just in time for the fall season! From what I’ve seen in photos, Pennsylvania is beautiful in the fall and I can’t wait to see it in the peak of the season. I’m already seeing some leaves changing so I’m super excited. We visited the pumpkin patch over the weekend and took some photographs to remember this time by.

There is a lot of emphasis on gifts for women around Valentine’s Day, but the men in our lives (including fathers and friends) deserve a little something too! I thought my valentine of six years deserved something a little special this year, so I gifted him an exquisite assortment of Ferrero Golden Gallery Signature chocolates. I don’t think anyone loves chocolate more than Schyler and I, and Ferrero has always been one of our favorites so naturally it was the perfect choice!
