Staycation At The JW Marriott Desert Ridge In Scottsdale

This past weekend, Andrew, Sage, and I did a “staycation” at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Scottsdale. It was a much-needed getaway for our little family with lots of fun activities in a beautiful desert setting! This was our first staycation together, and I have to say, it’s a super convenient way of “getting away”. We may have to do another in the future, maybe in the summer here in the Phoenix area, to take advantage of the pool! I’ll be sharing more about the hotel, its amenities, and what we did during our quick stay.

While I was in La Jolla with my parents and sister, we found the dreamiest little cove where my sister shot some maternity swim photos for me! I was nearing the end of the 5th month of my pregnancy when we shot these and I am now about 25 weeks pregnant. I love how these photos turned out and I felt beautiful while showing off my baby bump! It has been truly astonishing watching my belly grow, especially in the second trimester where it’s really started growing rapidly. The first trimester I felt like I just look bloated lol but now it’s quite obvious I’m pregnant. What our bodies can do to grow a baby is so incredible.

During my trip to Los Angeles to visit my sister, Rocio and I took a road trip to Ojai and on our way back to LA, we stopped in Malibu for the day to explore! Malibu was absolutely amazing with it’s stunning views and beautiful beaches. I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for some sexy swimsuit photos! My sister took these photos for me on the beach below Point Dume and I love how they turned out.

In today’s blog post I wanted to share the outfits I wore during my trip to Phoenix in April! We spent a lot of the days during my visit driving from coffee shops to restaurants to Phoenix sights so I had to make sure my outfits were super comfortable. I always pack light by making sure the pieces I’m packing are versatile and can be easily mixed and matched. During my Phoenix visit, I was able to meet my parent’s horse Maverick! My parents retired in the Phoenix area 3+ years ago now and board a horse nearby. Growing up on a farm in Eastern Washington, my parents had a ton of horses, so I grew up training and riding horses. Since graduating high school, I’ve always lived in a city so I don’t really get the chance to ride horses often. It was so fun getting the chance to ride again after 5+ years!

Over the Thanksgiving holiday I flew to Arizona to be with my family. My parents retired in Arizona a few years ago which I am very happy about because I LOVE the desert! I can’t get enough of the beautiful saguaros. Schyler would not be down with moving there because of the heat but it’s nice having a home base there that I can visit! During my time there, I really wanted to do a bohemian desert sunset photo shoot and I love how the photos turned out.

On my recent trip to Philadelphia, I wanted to pull out all of my best fashion pieces! I thrifted so many great Fall staples from Thriftique, a local non-profit thrift store here in Pittsburgh. Fall is one of my favorite seasons to dress for because of all the layers. When I stopped by Thriftique, I had a list of things I was looking for and I found every single one! The western trend has been becoming increasingly popular these past couple of years, particularly during festival season! I had been wanting to do a western inspired photo shoot for awhile, so I I thought it would be fun to take a girls trip to central Oregon with my sister and blogger friend Tonya of themoptop.com, for the perfect photo backgrounds! Central Oregon is absolutely stunning. We stopped by Smith Rock and the Painted Hills for these photos.
