I can’t believe it’s been a month since our big move across the country to Nashville! In some ways it seems like its been longer than that, but it also seems like the time has flown by. We are absolutely loving Music City so far and I can’t wait to continue exploring the area! The main reason Schyler and I decided to move from Portland to Nashville was so that we could start saving for a home. The cost of living in general and the cost of homes is much less expensive here so we will be able to buy a home much sooner then we would have back in the PNW. I would love to start a family within the next few years and I can’t wait to start the next chapter of our life!

I’m so excited to announce that we are MOVING TO NASHVILLE! Schyler and I have lived in Portland, OR for about 4 years, two of which my sister Rocio lived with us. Recently, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress! We had been going back and forth for awhile now on whether or not we should stay in Portland or if we should move. Portland is such a cool city and there is so much we love about it but unfortunately for us, the cons outweighed the pros.
Do you guys like making New Year’s resolutions? I like to set a few realistic goals for myself so that I know I can follow through! This year my resolutions are…
As you guys know, I became a dog mom earlier this year! I brought my puppy Indio home in May and he is now 8 months old. I can’t believe how fast time is flying! He is the sweetest, cuddliest, cutest puppy and I couldn’t be luckier to be his mom. He makes life fun! I couldn’t resist snapping some photos of Indio for his first Fall in this world.
How I Get Through the Day as a New Dog Mom with Mr. Coffee
By Esperanza on July 25, 2019As a new dog mom to a 10 week old puppy, I need all the help I can get! That’s when Mr. Coffee comes to the rescue. I love that the Mr. Coffee® Easy Measure 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker is so easy to use and makes consistently good cups of coffee. We are currently crate/potty training Indio so he has to be taken out 3-5 times a night. Needless to say, I have been very sleep deprived! A strong cup of coffee in the morning has been a lifesaver.
When I first graduated high school, I didn’t know a lot about credit or if I even had a credit score! It wasn’t until a few years later when I moved to Oregon to attend University and had to find an apartment that I even started to think about credit! The landlord of the apartment I was looking to move in to asked what my credit score was. I had no idea so I immediately went in to my bank to speak to someone about it.
Meet my new puppy Indio! He is a black male Labradoodle that I adopted from Forevergreen Farms in Amboy, WA. My friends and family can all tell you that I have wanted a Labradoodle puppy for soooo long! So I am beyond the moon happy that I can now say that I am a proud dog mom of a Labradoodle.
This past year was full of learning lessons, first accomplishments, and good and bad experiences. Even with the good and the bad, 2018 was a great year and I know 2019 will be even better! I wanted to share some of the new habits and goals I’m starting for the new year. I hope that you guys can find this post helpful and set some goals of your own! Let’s own this year guys!
Celebrating my Birthday at The Solo Club
By Esperanza on July 2, 2018For my birthday this year, we decided to go out for dinner at The Solo Club. I’ve always admired this trendy, Portland cocktail bar from outside so I’m really glad we were able to finally eat there! My sister lives with me now as most of you probably know and my brother just moved to the area so they were able to join Schyler and I for dinner. I haven’t gotten to celebrate a birthday with both of my siblings there in probably over 8 years, so it was definitely nice to have them there this year!
Rooftop Photo Shoot with Corrie Mahr Photography
By Esperanza on November 6, 2017I got to do a really fun photo shoot with Corrie Mahr Photography this past summer. I am just now getting around to posting the photos but better late than never right?! Corrie and I went to college together and I’ve always admired her work so it was really exciting to be behind her lens. We met for coffee to brain storm shoot locations and ideas. We both thought a rooftop photo shoot would be really cool and I knew the perfect location! The top of the Pioneer Courthouse Square Smart Park in downtown Portland.
