I’ve always had a very expressive forehead and thin lips and in recent years, it’s really started to bother me a lot more. Especially now, with my career as a content creator! I am constantly posting photos and videos of myself, so it’s really east to criticize little things about my appearance. I don’t think that anyone should feel like they have to change their physical appearance, but I also think that you should do whatever makes you feel happy and confident. So I finally decided to get botox and lip fillers! I wanted to share my experience with you guys in this blog post.

Over the past couple of years, I have been debating whether or not I should get lash extensions. I’ve always loved the look of them but I was afraid to make the commitment! When Lash Lounge reached out to me to try lash extensions, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to finally make the leap and now I absolutely love them!

I have been in need of a new hair look for a while now! I was playing with the idea of getting bangs again and I finally decided to do it. I actually had bangs for three years but the past three years I haven’t had them. To be honest, one of the main reasons I wanted to get bangs again was to hide my expressive forehead and the wrinkles caused by it! In the future I would love to get preventive botox but until then, the bangs will do the trick 😉

Staying at a Portland AirBnB Studio

Recently I did a staycation, at the cutest Portland Airbnb studio. I am not even kidding when I tell you, this studio is my DREAM apartment. I love the open concept of the space, the airy white walls and cabinetry, and the boho feel of the decor. I like to do staycations with Schyler every once in awhile so when I stumbled across this studio on Instagram I knew that I wanted to stay here! It’s nice to get out of our apartment and do something special for us as a couple without having to take a road trip or fly somewhere.

One of the things that I love most about Portland are all the coffee shops! I’ve been to a ton of cities in the United States and in my opinion, none of them have as good of a coffee scene as Portland does. I guess we just love coffee over here! Aside from serving amazing coffee, Portland coffee shops put a lot of thought in designing beautiful spaces to enjoy your coffee in. In my opinion, the aesthetic is equally as important as the coffee! In this series, I’m going to be sharing some of my favorite Portland coffee shops with you guys. A few months ago, I blogged about Project Re-Made with thredUP. If you missed it, you can read the blog post here. thredUP is a fashion re-sale website where you can buy and sell secondhand clothing. They are dedicated to sustainability and play a big part in the Collaborative Consumption Movement which is super cool! Celebrating my Birthday at The Solo Club

For my birthday this year, we decided to go out for dinner at The Solo Club. I’ve always admired this trendy, Portland cocktail bar from outside so I’m really glad we were able to finally eat there! My sister lives with me now as most of you probably know and my brother just moved to the area so they were able to join Schyler and I for dinner. I haven’t gotten to celebrate a birthday with both of my siblings there in probably over 8 years, so it was definitely nice to have them there this year!

Trying Vegan Food at Capitol Bar

Rocio and I decided to switch to a vegetarian diet about a month ago and Schyler has been on board as well! I was a vegetarian for over 3 years but due to some diet issues, I had to add meat back into my diet. We were inspired by our friend Jensyn to try cutting meat out again and it has actually been surprisingly easy! When I was a vegetarian, I loved trying vegan food and making vegan recipes out of a cookbook that Schyler got for me. I’m always amazed by how delicious vegan dishes can be! I love how creative vegans are with spices as well as meat and dairy substitutes.

I visited the Headlands Lodge & Spa in Pacific City Oregon for a girl’s trip with my sister and our friend Jensyn. It was such a perfect getaway and definitely a much needed trip! Pacific City is one of my favorite beach towns to visit on the Oregon Coast. The next time I visit, I will definitely be staying at Headlands again!

Co-working At Centrl Office

Recently I got the chance to visit the Centrl Eastside office in downtown Portland. Centrl is a co-working shared office and work space. The offices are located on the first three floors of Slate, a housing and workplace collaboration. I’ve always loved the idea of a shared office space. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for The Urban Darling as my business grows. I love being able to work from home but sometimes it would be nice to have an office to go to everyday to separate work from my personal life.
