The western trend has been becoming increasingly popular these past couple of years, particularly during festival season! I had been wanting to do a western inspired photo shoot for awhile, so I I thought it would be fun to take a girls trip to central Oregon with my sister and blogger friend Tonya of themoptop.com, for the perfect photo backgrounds! Central Oregon is absolutely stunning. We stopped by Smith Rock and the Painted Hills for these photos.

When I think of western style for women, I think of florals and long, flowing dresses like this pink floral dress from Chicwish. It has puffy sleeves that you can wear on your shoulders but I really like the off the shoulder look for this dress. I styled it with some brown suede ankle boots for another western flair and this cute asian parasol I found at an antique store in Bend. Here is a similar one. My dad watched a lot of western movies growing up and the fancy women would always have a parasol so I thought it would be fun to incorporate one into this shoot! The floral design of the parasol compliments the dress perfectly! Similar parasol here.

This next dress is a little more girly with the ruffled sleeves. It’s not necessarily western-y but I styled it with the suede ankle boots, a blue bandana around the neck, and a wide brim hat to instantly give it a western feel. Bandanas are the perfect accessory to add to your outfits for a western feel! You can wear them in your hair, tie them around your neck or wrist…there are so many ways to style them! And then of course a wide brim hat is the perfect accessory for a western flair. Also, how stunning is this view of the crooked river at Smith Rock?! I definitely recommend this spot if you are planning a trip to Oregon.

Ok lots of photos in this last dress 😛 I love the bohemian feel of this white lacy maxi dress! It has a lot of pleating and lace details that make it feel really feminine. White is such an amazing color for summer too! It just looks good with everything. I styled it with the suede boots, a fancy choker necklace + bangle, and the wide brim hat.
