I have been waiting to share this news for a few months now, and I decided that I was finally ready to open up about my new relationship! Andrew and I met in an unexpected way on a dating app and hit it off right away. He was living in Portland, but the app changed his location to Phoenix while he was here for a few days interviewing for a position (he is a chef/food consultant). It happened to be the day I created my profile; otherwise we would have never matched! He came to visit me about a week later, and we started officially dating. It was very serendipitous and I have never been happier! Andrew moved to Phoenix, and we moved into a rental home together a few weeks ago now. He has been so amazing with Sage since the beginning, which means everything to me. His dog Arlo and Sage hit it off right away too! I love the life, family, and home we are creating together.

For those of you who have been following along with me on my journey as a single mom, you know that Sage’s dad struggles, with mental health issues and because of that, we had to separate halfway through my pregnancy. I went through some really dark times, but my baby motivated me to work on myself and heal my heart so that I could move forward with my life in a healthy way. I found that meditation, affirmations, and focusing on being the healthiest version of myself for my child really helped prepare me to be ready to start dating again once Sage was 6 months old (a promise I had made to myself). I was afraid that I might not be able to recognize something good from something bad because of my past, but I just knew that there was something really special there with Andrew right away based on our conversations. He had been working on himself as well after losing his fiance, so we were both ready for a healthy, loving relationship when we met. We are both so fortunate and grateful that we met, and everything has worked out so perfectly; it’s almost like it was meant to be as cheesy as that sounds.

We shot these photos on a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden here in Phoenix. We had planned to go just for fun, but the night before I got a campaign that required family photos and we didn’t have any together, so it was the perfect setting for our first photo shoot!
