Cozy Fall Photos At Home With My Fiance

Last fall we had just moved in to our apartment and barely had any decor or furniture in it! This fall season our apartment is finally fully decorated so I was actually able to decorate this year. It really feels like home now so I wanted to capture some fall photos at home with my fiance Schyler. We’ve been together going on 8 years now but this is our first fall as an engaged couple so I think that makes it a little extra special 😉 I’ve had this yellow plaid dress for a few years now and thought it would be perfect for a fall touch. We are getting really good at this whole tripod thing now too lol although it’s about time for an upgrade lol. This fall I wanted to style some fun Halloween costume ideas to share with you guys! I’m very frugal so I like to pick Halloween costumes that I can DIY without having to buy anything. One of the icons whose style I wanted to re-create was Selena Quintanilla! My mom bought me the movie about her life for my birthday when I was little and I was obsessedddd. I love her casual 90’s style! Her concert looks would have been a little hard for me to re-create with pieces from my closet but her 90’s style is easy to replicate with closet staples. Most of the pieces in my closet are actually thrifted so you can easily find similar pieces at your local thrift store, but I’ve also linked similar items below for each outfit that you can get on Amazon! Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month + My Colombian Roots

I’m a few days late but I wanted to share something for #nationalhispanicheritagemonth! My mom and her family are from Colombia, a beautiful country in South America that I have been fortunate enough to visit a handful of times. The beautiful necklace I’m wearing in this photo was my abuelita’s, one of the few pieces of her’s my mom gave me. My parents have also given me cowhide rugs, throw blankets, rugs, + other decorative pieces like this wind-chime that I love the style of! I’ve kept these pieces with me through all the moves over the years and they were a huge influence when I was decorating the space. They make me feel more connected to my Hispanic heritage! There are many beautiful areas of Colombia that I would love to explore and I definitely plan to travel there in the few years.

Last fall, we had only been living in our Pittsburgh loft apartment for a few months and we barely had any furniture yet because we had moved across the country with only a few belongings and our labradoodle of course. So I was really excited about decorating for fall this year! My apartment is very boho chic so I tend to lean towards neutral, simplistic holiday decor. I’m FINALLY sharing a tour of our decorated Pittsburgh loft apartment! It has been such a long process and at times it felt like I would never be finished lol. When we moved across the country, I had to start over from scratch collecting new furniture, decor, and houseplants which let’s face it, get’s very expensive! I’ve always been a thrifter but I dedicated myself to thrifting the perfect decor to fill our home with, from that launched Urban Darling Shop, my online boho decor shop. Luckily as a full time content creator, I was able to partner with brands on a lot of major furniture pieces and the rest I thrifted or bought from Amazon, Target, etc. After a busy year and lots of delays, I finally felt like our space was “ready” to share.
