I’ve been rounding up content over the past several weeks now that places are opening back up which is great, because there are so many spots in steel city I want to share with you guys! I’m a major coffee lover, especially if the surroundings in which I will be enjoying my coffee in are super cute 🙂 In this blog post I’ve rounded up 5 Pittsburgh coffee shops that I love!
We have been renters for 7 years now and have dealt with some very bad air quality in some of our past apartments. I can’t believe it’s been over a year that we picked up and moved across the country in my Jeep to Nashville then Pittsburgh! We have been living in Pittsburgh now for a little over 6 months and I am happy to say that we are almost 80% done decorating our new apartment. It was challenging to decorate after starting over from scratch in a much bigger space but it’s going to be amazing when everything is “finished”. I had been searching + envisioning the perfect armchairs for the reading/coffee nook in our living room for so many ones and then finally found the perfect ones on Burrow.
I love baskets! They are so useful and can look amazing and really had to the aesthetic of your home if you pick the right ones. I’ve rounded up my favorite baskets on Amazon that have a boho chic feel to them (my favorite style ;P) but most of these are neutral enough to fit into any home decor style.
I have had a white comforter and sheets for years and I’ve always loved the bright, clean look of it, but recently I’ve been thinking about changing it up! We brought Indio home a year and a half ago and shortly after he was potty trained, we started letting him up on the bed with us so naturally our white comforter always looks a bit dingy. We love having him on the bed with us though so I figured a comforter and sheets with color would help prevent this!
During our recent trip to New York City, we stayed at the Garden Suites Hotel by Affinia for two nights. The hotel was only a 10 min walk from Central Park and very centrally located to everything we wanted to do in Manhattan so it was the perfect spot for us! We stayed in a suite with two queen beds, a separate living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen. It was so nice having a spacious hotel room for three during our stay!
Schyler, my boyfriend of 7 years, proposed to me on our recent trip to New York City at the beautiful Bethesda Fountain in Central Park! My sister spent Christmas with us in Pittsburgh and came with us on the trip where she was going to be staying to meet her boyfriend and his family in New Jersey. It worked out perfectly because Schyler was able to coordinate with her to capture the moment!
Over Thanksgiving, I flew to Phoenix, AZ, where my parents have retired to spend Thanksgiving with my family! My parents had a hotel deal in Palm Springs for a week so after Thanksgiving we drove there from Phoenix so that I could enjoy a couple of days in Palm Springs with my parents and sister. I had never been to Palm Springs before so I was super excited to check it out! I had a few places I definitely wanted to check out, some of which were closed due to Covid, but it was still fun. I’m sharing all of the spots I loved in this blog post!
Our Christmas photos look a little different this year! We usually head to the Christmas tree farm but decided to take photos at home instead with Indio and I actually love how they turned out! My sister is coming to visit us this Christmas so I wanted to make our apartment extra cozy and special for the holiday! My interior decor style is bohemian meets mid-century modern and it can be hard to find Christmas ornaments that fit that style so I ended up making my own DIY ornaments and decorating around those.
