Portland’s Best Coffee Shops III
There have been a ton of new coffee shops popping up around Portland and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Sipping coffee at cute, local coffee shops is one of my favorite past-times. In this installment of “Portland’s Best Coffee Shops”, I’ll be chatting about some of my favorite coffee spots; Guilder, Figlia Americana, Barista, and Prince Coffee. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back, and enjoy!
Guilder
Guilder just opened in NE on Fremont St. I am loving this Scandinavian inspired coffee shop! They have an awesome loft area, reminiscent of trendy Seattle spots, with plenty of room and tables for meeting with friends or studying. In addition to light food and coffee, they also serve wine and beer. What more could you ask for?
They did an awesome job renovating this airy, open space. I love the patterned mosaic across the bar and the white subway accent wall. Concrete floors, wood accents, and pendants are cool, industrial touches. Beautiful spots like this always have me coming back! Not to mention yummy mochas and lattes.
Figlia Americana
This Italian-American coffee shop on SE Grand is so cute! You can’t miss it, the doors into this stylish spot are a bright pink. Besides coffee, they also serve breakfast and light lunches like soups, salads, and toasts. Their thick, chocolatey mocha is absolutely to die for. With plenty of seating at the bar, marble round tables, and farmhouse tables, this is a great spot to meet with friends and family.
This spacious coffee spot has major industrial feels with white walls, an exposed ceiling, and industrial pendants. The colorful light fixtures really pop against the white ceiling. The beautiful patterned mosaic tile floor is original to the building. Figlia Americana shares this space with the Rejuvenation, a vintage lighting and hardware manufacturer. The Portland Flea Market is held once a month in the back parking lot! Check out their website for dates.
Barista
Barista is a popular Portland coffee shop with six locations; downtown, Pearl District, Nob Hill, 13th, Pine Street Market, and Alberta. Each spot is unique with its own style of decor, same great coffee of course. The location I have photographed is the Nob Hill location on NW 23rd, a popular shopping district in Portland. Grab a coffee to sip while you shop!
I love the decor at this spot. Pretty teal walls, floral wall paper, and leather booths. Talk about dreamy! Their skilled baristas are always friendly and make awesome honey lattes. If you manage to snag a spot at a coveted booth, get fancy and order some wine 😉
Prince Coffee
The Dutch inspired Prince Coffee is quickly becoming a Portland favorite. One step inside this trendy coffee shop and you can see why! It’s a Pinterest board come to life with white bead board, wood shiplap, and open shelves. Adorable plants, dreamcatchers, and antlers are perfectly styled throughout the shop. Welcome to your new living room! Just kidding, you can’t literally move in (although I’d like to!).
One of the many things that make this spot so unique are the yummy stroopwafels they serve. I feel like I’m back in the Netherlands while munching on one of those babies! They serve coffee from Coava (one of my favorites) and Roseline. The drink pictured below is a latte. This cute spot is located in the North Portland Kenton neighborhood on Willis Blvd, a must if you are in the area.
