Butler Street Guide – Lawrenceville Neighborhood In Pittsburgh
I live in Pittsburgh’s east end, very close to Butler St. in the Lawrenceville neighborhood. It’s a very popular shopping street here in Pittsburgh with lots of restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, tattoo shops, and more to explore! I personally love spending the day walking down streets like this popping in to this store, grabbing a coffee, a late brunch, those are some of the things I really love enjoying in life. When we lived in Portland and Nashville, I shared lots of street + travel guides which are some of my most viewed blog posts! I knew that a had to start sharing more guides like this for Pittsburgh too. I hope you guys enjoy this blog post, especially those of you who are new to Pittsburgh or plan on visiting!
Character
Lawrenceville, with it’s diverse array of small businesses, has a ton of character. It was actually featured in Kristen Stewart’s recent film “Happiest Season”, a Christmas movie filmed here in Pittsburgh! My sister was visiting for Christmas and we sat down to watch it after just coming home from exploring Butler St. and I said “hey we were just there!” lol. I can see why it was the perfect setting for the film!

Restaurants
Round Corner Cantina
Round Corner Cantina is the spot I would recommend if you’re in the mood for Mexican! I loved the exterior setting of the restaurant, an old hotel, and the beautiful bar when you first step in. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that there was a patio and even more surprised by the room I walked through to get to it! I loved the banana leaf print wallpaper and The Beverly Hills Hotel vibes of that room. The back patio had a cocktail bar and lots of outdoor seating in what must have been the courtyard of the hotel back in the day! Definitely a cool spot to check out with friends on a night out.

Lawrenceville Market House
I was so excited when this new spot popped up in Lawrenceville! It’s a chic, modern co-retail space called the Lawrenceville Market House with multiple vendors and a bar serving coffee and donuts. I love the idea of the space and it was designed beautifully. I’ve included images of one of the vendors, Storehouse Neutral, offering a curated collection of home goods, clothing, accessories and more. This is a one stop shop for sure!
Address: 4112 Butler St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201
The Shops in Lawrenceville are definitely for people who are young, avant garde, funky and liberal. Anyone who has conservative taste in clothing (especially wonen’s clothing) will find nothing to his or her liking. The same holds true of the array of restaurants. Anyone who thrives on weird concoctions of food will enjoy the restaurants in Lawrenceville. The area is not fine dining friendly.
