My friend McKenzie and I took a trip to the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood last week. Neither of us had been to the lodge at this time of the year. We were hoping to get some wintery shots in the snow and evergreens and we were not disappointed! The whole area looked like a winter wonderland. I felt like I was in a scene from “White Christmas”.
This past weekend I went on the most beautiful hike in Silver Falls State Park with my sister, boyfriend, and a good friend. We were hoping to see some beautiful fall foliage in the forest and we were not disappointed! I couldn’t wait to wear my new Charlie Timeless Hat from Tinlid Hat Company. I felt super cute with my denim hat and hiking outfit.
Barcelona, the capitol of Spain’s Catalonia region, is known for art, architecture, and the fantastical Art Nouveau landmarks designed by the famous Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. One of my favorite things to do on weekends is to explore unique, local stores in Portland. I love to browse through these shops, gather design inspiration, and support local businesses. Many of these stores support other local artisans and makers and focus on sustainable and quality made products. You can be assured that anything you buy from these stores will be unique and one of a kind! If you are visiting Portland soon, this is a great list to refer to for some great shopping spots. Portland is the hipster land of bridges, bikes, and the best desserts! Mississippi Avenue is a vibrant North Portland neighborhood with tons of cute shops and fun restaurants. Just a few years ago, the area had a bad rap, but many of the shop owners saw potential in the historic storefronts. With help from the Rebuilding Center on Mississippi, many of the storefronts were renovated with secondhand materials from old Portland buildings. In a short amount of time, Mississippi has quickly become a thriving Portland destination with a ton of foot traffic!
Rome is an amazing city with so much history. You have to visit Rome on a trip to Italy! I got the chance to spend a three day weekend in Rome with my best friend Elle. We took a train from Florence, Italy and stayed at the Hostel Alessandro Downtown. The following is a list of my top five must see places in Rome, although there are of course many more.
Located in the lobby of the Society Hotel, this coffee spot is a total gem! The Society Cafe is also a lounge and bar that serves coffee, fresh pastries, beer from local breweries, and some of the best wine in the Chehalem Valley. I really love their chai latte; it’s not too spicy and not too sweet. It’s just perfect! The lounge is very roomy with sofas and window seating. I love the blue/grey cabinetry, marble counters and tables, and the wooden accents.
