If you love music and retro vibes as much as I do, then you would love this hotel in downtown Phoenix, Egyptian Motor Hotel! My friend Elle and I stayed there for 3 nights during our girl’s trip and had an amazing stay. It’s an old mid century building that has been re-invisioned into this fun, boutique hotel. There are so many things to love about this hotel from the Egyptian Live Bar to the fabulous restaurant on the property, Chilte. In this blog post I am going to be highlighting the hotel for those of you who may be looking for a hotel to stay at while visiting Phoenix!

During my friend Elle’s visit, I planned a fun “girls trip” for us in Scottsdale. Scottsdale is a very popular city in Phoenix and definitely a tourist destination because of all it’s fabulous hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and more. I live in a southeast suburb of Phoenix and I don’t make it up to Scottsdale often but I love the area! This was Elle’s first time visiting Phoenix so I thought it would be fun for us to spend most of our trip in Scottsdale. We visited so many cute spots that I will be highlighting in this blog post.

My oldest friend, Elle, came to visit me in Phoenix recently so that she could meet baby Sage! We have been friends for over 15 years but it had been a few years since we were together in person. I wanted us to have a really special time so I planned a girls staycation for us at the beautiful Mountain Shadows resort. It’s a chic, high end resort (4.5 stars) with modern mid century vibes. This hotel has everything from a historic golf course to a luxurious outdoor swimming pool. We had such a fabulous stay and enjoyed some much needed girl time! Phoenix is such a cute southwestern city that should be on everyone’s list of U.S. travel destinations! The sunny weather there is perfect for vacations and the people there are friendly. During my Phoenix visit, I was able to meet my parent’s horse Maverick! My parents retired in the Phoenix area 3+ years ago now and board a horse nearby. Growing up on a farm in Eastern Washington, my parents had a ton of horses, so I grew up training and riding horses. Since graduating high school, I’ve always lived in a city so I don’t really get the chance to ride horses often. It was so fun getting the chance to ride again after 5+ years!
