Andrew and I always make an effort to have one date night a week, and a lot of the times when we do, we love trying out new restaurants! Andrew is a chef, and we are both big foodies, but I love finding spots that have beautiful interiors as well. In this blog post, I wanted to share some of my favorite spots we have visited in the past year for those of you who are local to the area or are visiting and want to find spots to check out. There are coffee shops, cafes, and fine dining restaurants located all over the Phoenix metro area.

This past weekend, Andrew, Sage, and I did a “staycation” at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Scottsdale. It was a much-needed getaway for our little family with lots of fun activities in a beautiful desert setting! This was our first staycation together, and I have to say, it’s a super convenient way of “getting away”. We may have to do another in the future, maybe in the summer here in the Phoenix area, to take advantage of the pool! I’ll be sharing more about the hotel, its amenities, and what we did during our quick stay.

If you love music and retro vibes as much as I do, then you would love this hotel in downtown Phoenix, Egyptian Motor Hotel! My friend Elle and I stayed there for 3 nights during our girl’s trip and had an amazing stay. It’s an old mid century building that has been re-invisioned into this fun, boutique hotel. There are so many things to love about this hotel from the Egyptian Live Bar to the fabulous restaurant on the property, Chilte. In this blog post I am going to be highlighting the hotel for those of you who may be looking for a hotel to stay at while visiting Phoenix!

During my friend Elle’s visit, I planned a fun “girls trip” for us in Scottsdale. Scottsdale is a very popular city in Phoenix and definitely a tourist destination because of all it’s fabulous hotels, restaurants, boutiques, and more. I live in a southeast suburb of Phoenix and I don’t make it up to Scottsdale often but I love the area! My oldest friend, Elle, came to visit me in Phoenix recently so that she could meet baby Sage! We have been friends for over 15 years but it had been a few years since we were together in person. I wanted us to have a really special time so I planned a girls staycation for us at the beautiful Mountain Shadows resort. It’s a chic, high end resort (4.5 stars) with modern mid century vibes. This hotel has everything from a historic golf course to a luxurious outdoor swimming pool. We had such a fabulous stay and enjoyed some much needed girl time!
