Celebrating my Birthday at The Solo Club
For my birthday this year, we decided to go out for dinner at The Solo Club. I’ve always admired this trendy, Portland cocktail bar from outside so I’m really glad we were able to finally eat there! My sister lives with me now as most of you probably know and my brother just moved to the area so they were able to join Schyler and I for dinner. I haven’t gotten to celebrate a birthday with both of my siblings there in probably over 8 years, so it was definitely nice to have them there this year!
I love well designed interiors (former Interior Designer here!) and I loved the boho, modern design of The Solo Club. The tile floor has this amazing Moroccan type design which ties in really well with their wicker accents. They have this amazing peacock chair in their lounge area (which I totally wanted to swipe for my apartment ;D) and this really cool wicker bike above their bar. I’ve never seen anything like it!
We started off with a side of fries which were delicious! I think they use curry spices on their fries which I thought was very unique. Schyler loved their spicy dipping sauces.
I ordered the falafel bowl while everyone else ordered falafels. I tried to broaden their horizons and convince them to try different plates, but that’s okay! All three of them raved about their falafels. I loved my bowl because it was packed with yummy, healthy foods like beets, quinoa, and cucumber.
We were super full after our falafels and fries, but we Scotto’s (and Cooks!) cannot resist dessert, so we ordered the chocolate cake to split! Our waiter brought it out to us with a candle for my birthday which was so thoughtful! I really appreciated it. The chocolate cake was amazing but my favorite part was the white chocolate pieces that came on the side. I’m a sucker for chocolate!
The food and service at this NW cocktail bar were great and I can’t wait to go back! Maybe for a blogger brunch or a date with some girlfriends? I definitely reccomend The Solo Club to Portland residents and tourists!
XOXO
