Recently I got the chance to visit the Centrl Eastside office in the Central Eastside industrial neighborhood of Portland. Centrl is a co-working shared office and work space. The offices are located on the first three floors of Slate, a housing and workplace collaboration. I’ve always loved the idea of a shared office space. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for The Urban Darling as my business grows. I love being able to work from home but sometimes it would be nice to have an office to go to everyday to separate work from my personal life.

The Centrl Offices have tons of benefits for members like meeting spaces, indoor bike racks, a print room, beautiful kitchen break rooms with coffee, beer, and water service, and more. Their meeting spaces are perfect for bringing clients over to conduct business professionally (something you can’t do as well from home!). There are also community spaces like the one pictured below to chat or take a break at. I loved the modern/contemporary feel of the interiors at the Centrl Eastside Office. I really believe that people need a clean and inspiring workplace in order to do their best work. This definitely wouldn’t be a problem at Centrl! I noticed that they also had showers and private cubicles for phone calls which I thought was a huge perk. Anything that you could image wanting in an office, they’ve got. It’s almost more like a boutique hotel than an office!

You must be a member to use the dedicated workrooms, desks, and open desks. As a member, you get full access to Centrl Office Commons/Services, unlimited access to social/educational events, and discounted pricing for Meeting/Event spaces. Membership pricing varies depending on the room size and type. Dedicated desks in open work spaces come with lockable storage and a chair. Dedicated desks are available 24/7 and start at $495 a month. Members also have the flexibility to move from one room to another relatively easily.

The Centrl Offices have several locations. I visited the Eastside location, but they also have a location in the Pearl District and West End. The offices are a great option for small businesses and entrepreneurs! During my visit, all of the members seemed to get along really well and enjoy working at the offices. I love that shared workspaces give you the opportunity to meet and work with other like minded individuals.
