Getting Botox + Lip Filler At The Skin Center In Pittsburgh
I recently visited The Skin Center in Pittsburgh to have my botox and lip fillers touched up. Before that visit, it had been about 9 months since my last touch up. My lips were pretty deflated and full movement had returned to my very expressive forehead so it was about time lol. Botox is pretty straight forward for me, but my lips are a little tricky due to the anatomy of my natural lips. My top lip was very thin and non-existent before, which is why I got lip fillers in the first place! Due to the anatomy of my lips, they tuck under in the corners making it hard to get my top lip to pop out. Something that can usually be done in this situation is a “lip flip” which is botox injected right above the lip to encourage the lip to stay “popped”. I’ve tried getting lip flips but the results only last a very short while for me.
My Experience At The Skin Center
The injector I worked with at the Mount Lebanon location, Caitlin was super sweet, informative, and really made sure I was happy with my results! She was familiar with the trickiness of my top lip because her natural lip anatomy is very similar. She used a different method of injecting the lip filler and to get the top lip to pop and that definitely made a difference. Caitlin also injected with Juvederm Ultra Plus which is best filler for volume and duration length!
Before + After
Lip Blushing
While I was visiting with Caitlin I asked her about a cosmetic procedure that I’m interested in called “lip blushing”. It’s basically permanent makeup for your lips! I was interested in lip blushing because I learned that I have major color loss in my lips. The entire outer edge of my lips has no color which is part of why my lips look so thin! They would actually look a little more like how I want them too if they had color on the outer rim because then they would naturally look bigger. Lipstick of course does the trick but it doesn’t last and I would love to not have to rely on it!
I actually got to talk with the makeup artist and she said I would be a perfect candidate for it. She explained that you choose the shade that you want your lips to be and then the color is tattooed on to your lips to accentuate them. Depending on the color they have to go over a few times! Caitlin was familiar with it because she had it done and said that would be a great solution for me in addition to lip filler to get the look I’ve been wanting! It’s a little expensive, so I’m going to wait for now but I would love to try it in the future.
