The Location

On our recent trip to San Francisco, we stayed at the the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel. The glamorous InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel is located on beautiful Nob Hill, which makes for some amazing views of the city! You’ll know you’ve arrived when you spot the grand entrance on the corner of Mason and California. The entrance is designed for cars to drive in and be handed off to valet. Red carpet stairs lead you into the luxurious lobby boasting crystal chandeliers, marble tile floors, and velvet armchairs. I was immediately transported to a more elegant time when I stepped in!

What I Loved About The Hotel

We loved the view from our room on the 15th floor! We stayed in a double bed room which was very cozy and comfortable. When we arrived there were mini Ghiradelli chocolates sitting on our beds which I thought was a nice touch! Our room also had a TV and a coffee maker which was so convenient! The bathroom was clean and roomy with good lighting. It was easy to feel right at home!

We had Club access during our stay which was amazing because we were able to stop by the Club InterContinental Lounge for food and drinks throughout the day. The breakfast spread was on point and fueled us for the rest of our day. There was a great selection from typical breakfast foods like eggs, bacon, and hash browns, to pastries, waffles, fruit, croissants, cheeses and so much more! There was definitely something for everyone whether you are a meat-eater, vegetarian, vegan, or gluten free. They also had an amazing espresso machine that made lattes, cappuccinos, and brewed coffee. All three of us love our coffee so we definitely took advantage of the espresso machine! The Club is also a great area to lounge in if you want to rest or chat with friends and family.

The hotel also a fitness center so you don’t have to worry about missing a workout during your visit! There is rooftop lounge as well which is perfect for admiring views of the city and winding down with a cocktail in the evening.

What’s There To Do Near The Hotel

When I visit a new city, I like knowing what sights are in walking distance of my hotel so that I can easily check them off my list. The InterContinental Mark Hopkins hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Chinatown and the stunning Dragon’s Gate. It’s also about a ten minute walk from high end shopping in Union Square. Both of these areas are great for exploring! Other San Francisco attractions like Coit Tower, the Embarcadero, and the Ferry Building Marketplace are about a 12 minute drive.

Nob Hill in itself is a beautiful area to walk around in with beautiful hotels, residential homes, and amazing views of the city around every corner. All of these factors make it one of my favorite areas in San Francisco.
