Ojai, California is a place that I have always wanted to visit! I had heard amazing things about the calm, peaceful, and serene vibes in this beautiful California town. So when I flew to Los Angeles to visit my sister, I decided that we had to do a roadtrip to Ojai! It worked out perfectly because we went at the beginning of my visit and stopped in Malibu for the day on our way back to Los Angeles. Check out my Malibu blog post here! We were there for about 24 hours and visited so many cute boutiques and stayed at the cutest vintage airstream resort, Caravan Outpost. It was the perfect girl’s trip!

What To Do

Ojai Valley Inn

The roadtrip down to Ojai from Los Angeles was absolutely stunning! Our first stop when we arrived was at the Ojai Valley Inn. A friend of my sisters mentioned how beautiful the property was so we wanted to check it out. The grounds were picturesque and definitely had that Californian feel. We had to take some photos in the beautiful courtyard in the center of the hotel but there are several other beautiful courtyards and restaurants with amazing views. I would definitely recommend visiting Ojai Valley Inn, maybe eating at one of their restaurants, even if you don’t plan on staying there!

Ojai Promenade

After Ojai Valley Inn, we decided to head to the Ojai Promenade in downtown Ojai. This strip has amazing boutiques and restaurants and it’s adjacent to a beautiful park. If you love shopping, then I definitely recommend squeezing in an hour or two at the shops on the promenade. I’ve listed some of the boutiques we checked out below!

Gunays Rugs

I loved the bohemian vibes of Gunays Rugs! They have such an amazing selection of modern and vintage Turkish rugs as well as lanterns and other home accents. It’s a beautiful shop to check out for home decor and they had great gift items as well.

Julia Rose & Co.

If you love classic, casual, sophisticated style, then you will love shopping in Julia Rose & Co. All of the pieces carried in the store are of amazing quality and the curated selection really gives me those California cool vibes. You are sure to find an amazing piece of clothing or jewelry in this boutique.

Ali Golden

I was obsessed with everything in this unique boutique Ali Golden. It’s a woman-owned and operated sustainable clothing brand based with several locations in California. In addition to clothing they also have an amazing selection of trendy home goods, accessories, beauty, and more!

Kariella

This boho chic boutique Kariella, is totally up my alley. They had the cutest clothes, accessories, and more but what I really loved were there amazing displays! The interiors were so pretty and exactly my style. You are sure to find something in this adorable boutique.

Oso

This vintage and modern boutique, Oso, also had very unique vibes. Their curated collection of handmade and local pieces were super cute. I also loved their displays and interiors, I’m always a sucker for interiors! It’s the perfect boutique to shop for something different.

Where To Stay

Caravan Outpost

If you are looking for lodging in Ojai, I would definitely recommend checking out this unique spot! Caravan Outpost is a vintage airstream resort. The grounds are beautiful with community spaces, a fire pit, bikes, and each airstream has it’s own little patio area complete with a hammock! We had such a peaceful stay here, relaxing during the day after shopping in downtown. In the evening we rode our bikes around Ojai to catch the pink hour and came to back to a cozy night in watching a movie in bed with a yummy lasagna we cooked in the microwave in the little kitchen area. It was the perfect overnight stay!
