On the second day of our California trip, we left Palm Springs in the early afternoon and drove down to San Diego! After exploring Little Italy, we drove over to the Andaz in downtown to check in. We relaxed in our room for a little while and then headed up to North Park for dinner at trattoria Cori. Our room was beautiful, and it was the perfect space to unwind after our day of touring the city. The location was amazing because we were only about a 10-20 min drive away from everything we wanted to do. In this blog post, I will be sharing more about our stay at the Andaz!

The Room

Our room was very modern and had a very cool open concept space with a little lounge area in front of the bed, and a beautiful glass shower that divided the bedroom from the bathroom. It was a really cool feature! We had an amazing view of Gaslamp Quarter from our room, and I loved how much storage space there was. We were in San Diego for two nights so it was really nice having a beautiful, comfortable room to come back too.

The Lobby

The hotel had a very contemporary, modern feel to it. There was a lounge area near the entrance where you could wait for your car to be valeted or for family/friends to come down. There was also a market area where you could purchase snacks if you get hungry in the evening, etc. The concierge at the desk was great about giving us water bottles whenever we left the hotel, and everyone was very friendly. The valet service was great too!

The Rooftop

The view of downtown San Diego from the Andaz is absolutely spectacular! We came up here on the evening of our second night to check it out. Although we didn’t have enough time in our schedule to fit it in, they had a pool. There is also a bar up there and tv screens to watch sports game with several lounging and seating areas. On our first night, Andrew came up to the rooftop to get some work done and had a beer. It was a great way to unwindHe said it was beautiful with the fireplaces lit, and all the lights on!
