Palm Springs was one of the stops on our big California trip. Andrew had never been, which is why I wanted it to be one of our stops, and I had been years ago with my family. I have always loved retro, mid-century vibes and Palm Springs is known for that, of course! During our time there, we stayed at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, a hotel I have always wanted to go to. This hotel definitely had that retro feel to it! With two restaurants, a pool, and that iconic Palm Springs scenery, it was the perfect hotel. I will be highlighting more of our experience staying at the hotel in this blog post!

The Lobby

I really love a thoughtfully designed lobby at a hotel, and the one at the Ace Hotel was super cute! It’s always nice to have an area to lounge in outside our room if you want to get some work done, or even if you are just waiting for your car. The interiors of the Ace Hotel are very eclectic with a mix of mid-century and rustic details which you can definitely see in the lobby. From the lobby, you can access both restaurants, King’s Highway and The Amigo Room, and the pool.

King’s Highway

King’s Highway is a popular spot for food in Palm Springs. It’s a diner with lots of vintage charm! They are open every day from 7 am -10 pm with lots of indoor seating as well as patio seating next to the pool. I loved the old-school booths, chandeliers, and the amazing wicker elephant focal point on one of the mid-century style rock walls. We ended up ordering pool-side bites so we could enjoy the morning outside by the pool, so we didn’t get the chance to dine in King’s Highway, but the food is from the same kitchen and it was very good.

The Amigo Room

The night we arrived, we had an amazing dinner at The Amigo Room. It was recently renovated, and I absolutely loved the vintage, maximalist design of the interiors. It was like mid-century modern meets art deco! We ordered four dishes to share, cocktails, and dessert. We share everything we eat with Sage, and he was loving the food, especially the hummus! Andrew loved the burger sliders and my favorite is always dessert. The cocktails were great as well.

The Pool

One of the main things people like to do when they visit Palm Springs is lounge by the pool! The Ace Hotel & Swim Club is the perfect spot to do this, especially with that iconic view of the mountains and palm trees. We were able to squeeze in some time at the pool in the morning before heading out to explore more of Palm Springs. We ordered our coffee and breakfast there to enjoy while soaking up some sun poolside. It was a lovely way to start our morning!

The Room

We had a room with a patio which was super lovely! After Sage went to bed, Andrew and I got some work done on the patio with the fireplace going. It was very relaxing. Afterward, Andrew went out to enjoy the hot tub for a little bit after the long drive. The next morning, we enjoyed the fireplace for a little bit before heading to the pool for breakfast. We also played some records while packing. That was a fun touch! The room was very comfortable, and I loved the large French doors that opened up to the patio. The interiors had an outdoorsy vibe with some Bohemian elements as well, which was super cute!

I definitely recommend The Ace Hotel & Swim Club if you are looking for a hotel in Palm Springs! Book your stay here:
