When we made the temporary move to Colorado earlier this year, we knew it would be a season of change and adventure for our little family. As we settled into this new chapter, Andrew and I decided it was finally time to start growing our family. From the very beginning of our relationship, we talked about our hopes for the future and the family we wanted to build together. After getting married last September—following eight wonderful months of dating and a six-month engagement—we felt ready to take that next step. To our surprise and excitement, it only took two months of trying before we found out we were expecting!

This pregnancy has already felt a little different from my first. The first trimester brought plenty of nausea and exhaustion, making it a bit rougher than I remember with Sage. Even so, every challenging day has been worth it, and I’m hopeful that as I move further into the second trimester, I’ll start feeling more like myself again. One of the things that makes this journey so special is knowing how much Andrew has looked forward to this moment. He has been in Sage’s life since he was just six months old and has loved and cared for him as his own from the very beginning. Watching the bond they’ve built together has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Andrew is an incredible father, and I can’t wait to make him a dad again. I’m just as excited to watch Sage step into his new role as a big brother.

These photos were taken during a family reunion on Gleneden Beach near Lincoln City, Oregon, with my sister behind the camera. Looking back at them, I’m reminded of how grateful I am for the family and support system surrounding us as we prepare to welcome our newest little one. Our hearts are already so full, and we can’t wait to meet this sweet baby (in late December or early July) and begin this next adventure together.
