It’s been awhile since I shared photos or an update on my beloved labradoodle Indio. Indio turned 1 earlier this year in March and we are quickly making our to the big 2, I can’t believe it! He, along with mom and dad, has been struggle-inggg this summer with the humidity hear in Pittsburgh so he has preferred his curls kept short 😉 He has been going through a couple of health struggles that mom has been researching and trying to figure out how to address for months!
I live in Pittsburgh’s east end, very close to Butler St. in the Lawrenceville neighborhood. It’s a very popular shopping street here in Pittsburgh with lots of restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, tattoo shops, and more to explore! I personally love spending the day walking down streets like this popping in to this store, grabbing a coffee, a late brunch, those are some of the things I really love enjoying in life. When we lived in Portland and Nashville, I shared lots of street + travel guides which are some of my most viewed blog posts! I knew that a had to start sharing more guides like this for Pittsburgh too. I hope you guys enjoy this blog post, especially those of you who are new to Pittsburgh or plan on visiting!
This beautiful place is hands down my favorite spot in Pittsburgh! This beautiful building reminds me of the stunning architecture in Paris. I have a huge affinity for everything Parisian so I instantly fell in love the first time I visited. I’m also obsessed with plants and I love botanical gardens! It’s called Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Garden and it’s located right next to the university area here in Pittsburgh. We finally made it over there to capture some photos for the blog and I love how they turned out.
After a year of living in Pittsburgh, restaurants are finally starting to open back up which I’m thrilled about! I love amazing food + interiors with great ambience. My background is in interior design so I really appreciate beautiful spaces, especially in commercial design. In this blog post I will be sharing some of the Pittsburgh restaurants I love and I will be adding to the list as I discover new spots. I hope this blog post will be helpful for not only Pittsburgh locals but tourists visiting the city!

I recently shared a reveal of my boho kitchen and dining area (check out the blog post here)! I am so happy with my space and how it’s come together. If you guys are new here, when we moved across the country over a year ago, I had to start collecting decor and furniture from scratch. I’ve slowly thrifted most of the home decor in our apartment and I have loved the process! It’s so fun finding the perfect items to display in your space. I know that not everyone has thrift stores near them or maybe they can’t find the right kind of decor when they go which is part of why I started my boho shop Urban Darling Shop! You can find a lot of the kinds of decor I style in my space in my shop but I also wanted to share similar items I’ve found on Amazon! Think wood decor, earth tones, ceramics, plants, and wicker. These home decor items are perfect for creating that boho look!
I’m super excited to finally be sharing my kitchen + dining area! I had a few details I wanted to “perfect” and it took me a minute before the space felt “right”. If you guys are new here, my fiance Schyler and I moved across the country from Portland to Nashville with a few boxes. I had to start over from scratch in our Nashville apartment but it was much smaller with more designated areas so it was simple to decorate. Our Pittsburgh apartment is an old loft with so many funny corners and pitched ceilings! It was a little tricky to decorate and I took my time thrifting pieces carefully. I wanted to make sure every item was something I loved!
I recently visited The Skin Center in Pittsburgh to have my botox and lip fillers touched up. Before that visit, it had been about 9 months since my last touch up. My lips were pretty deflated and full movement had returned to my very expressive forehead so it was about time lol. Botox is pretty straight forward for me, but my lips are a little tricky due to the anatomy of my natural lips.
At the end of June, we celebrated my 28th birthday. For some reason this birthday has made me reflect a lot on where I’m at in life. Probably because it’s a little to close for comfort to 30! I’m not scared of getting older or anything like that, but I can’t help feeling like I haven’t accomplished as much as I wanted to by this age. I’m very driven and goal oriented so when I don’t feel like I’m achieving enough I start to get down on myself. A couple of the big goals I was hoping to have by now were getting married, buying a house, starting a family…
