These mini Christmas wreaths are so simple and pretty! Natural and simple decorations is the theme for my Christmas decorating this year. This DIY was under $3 and only took 10 minutes to make! All I had to pay for was the string and I gathered the pine tree and berry branches from my backyard. I love DIY’s that are super affordable and easy to make.
My talented friend McKenzie did it again with these Christmas photos! I love everyone of them. Photos are such an amazing way of capturing moments we would like to remember forever. That’s why I love to find every occasion to take photos with loved ones. Schyler and I took Christmas photos at a tree farm last year so I wanted to keep up the tradition this year. We headed to Sauvie Island Farms to find the perfect tree and take some fun photos.
Here in Portland, OR, we don’t usually get snow until January. We have been having a fairly warm winter so far which is nice because I have been able to wear some layered outfits. I’m sure I’ll have to whip out the winter jacket soon but for now I’ve been getting away with some lighter coats. I wanted to share some of my favorite winter pieces with you guys!
The count down to Christmas continues! I still have a ton of things to check off my list, but at least my decorating is done. I wanted to share another one of my DIY Christmas decorations. This pinecone garland is the perfect natural Christmas decoration! Pinecones really speak Christmas to me and I thought a garland would be a great way to incorporate them into my decor this year. The best part about it is that it’s practically free! I had twine sitting around from a previous DIY but you can easily get a roll for under $4. I gathered these fallen pine cones from trees in my neighborhood. I’m pretty resourceful 🙂
I love wreaths! They are so bright and cheery. They definitely complete a door step! I have been making one for every season so I had to keep up the tradition. I really wanted my Christmas wreath to be simple and natural. If you have seen my other Christmas decor DIY’s you might have noticed that’s my theme for this year. I gathered the materials from Craft Warehouse for under $18.
I love natural and simplistic Christmas decorations like these ornaments. I got this idea while scrolling through Pinterest and I thought they would be perfect this year! This DIY was under $6; all I had to buy were the plain glass ornaments. It’s the perfect and simple DIY to make while enjoying some cocoa with friends or family.
I have always loved lists! Check lists, to-do lists, bucket lists… Growing up, I would ask my mom to write my chores down on an list. I would call it my “Amelia Bedelia List”. Amelia Bedelia was a series of children’s books about a housekeeper that I read while growing up. I would go through each chore on the list and check it off until I was done. There is something so satisfying about completing a list!
As the weather starts getting colder, I like to stay warm in festive holiday pajamas and slipper boots! I think it’s a great way of getting into the holiday spirit. I work from home so I’m usually in lounge wear, but with fun pajamas like these I still feel really cute! I love the idea of wearing matching pajamas with your significant other or family on Christmas morning. Maybe I can get Schyler to wear them with me! ;D
On a recent trip to Europe with my sister, we took a train from London to Edinburgh, Scotland. I really wanted to visit Edinburgh because the author J.K. Rowling lived in Edinburgh while she was writing the Harry Potter series and she drew a lot of her inspiration from the city. My sister and I are both obsessed with Harry Potter and we loved visiting the spots that inspired the books. Edinburgh is such a charming, medieval city that makes you feel like you have stepped back in time. Scotland has been on my travel bucket list for awhile and I am so glad I got to experience it! Here is my list of the top ten things to do in Edinburgh.
My friend McKenzie and I took a trip to the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood last week. Neither of us had been to the lodge at this time of the year. We were hoping to get some wintery shots in the snow and evergreens and we were not disappointed! The whole area looked like a winter wonderland. I felt like I was in a scene from “White Christmas”.
