A few weeks ago, I flew to Charleston for a girls trip with my old friend Carly. Both of us had wanted to visit Charleston for awhile so we decided to just book the tickets. I’m so glad we got the chance to go! Charleston is such a charming little city with a ton of history. I loved the Georgian style architecture, the beautiful homes, and colorful buildings in downtown Charleston. It’s a pretty small city that feels more like a big town so it was super easy to get around by foot, bike, and rental car. The people in Charleston are super friendly and greet you in the streets. The city also has a noise ordinance at night in the historic district so it was really nice walking around at night. It really is a lovely city! In this post, I am sharing my favorite things to do in Charleston as well as the restaurants and hotels we visited during our trip.

Celebrating my Birthday at The Solo Club

For my birthday this year, we decided to go out for dinner at The Solo Club. I’ve always admired this trendy, Portland cocktail bar from outside so I’m really glad we were able to finally eat there! My sister lives with me now as most of you probably know and my brother just moved to the area so they were able to join Schyler and I for dinner. I haven’t gotten to celebrate a birthday with both of my siblings there in probably over 8 years, so it was definitely nice to have them there this year!

Trying Vegan Food at Capitol Bar

Rocio and I decided to switch to a vegetarian diet about a month ago and Schyler has been on board as well! I was a vegetarian for over 3 years but due to some diet issues, I had to add meat back into my diet. We were inspired by our friend Jensyn to try cutting meat out again and it has actually been surprisingly easy! When I was a vegetarian, I loved trying vegan food and making vegan recipes out of a cookbook that Schyler got for me. I’m always amazed by how delicious vegan dishes can be! I love how creative vegans are with spices as well as meat and dairy substitutes.

I have always loved Interior Design! I actually worked as in Interior Design for 5 years before quitting to work as a full time blogger and influencer. Creating mood boards was always one of my favorite tasks as a designer. They are such a great way of visualizing your ideas for a space. I visited the Headlands Lodge & Spa in Pacific City Oregon for a girl’s trip with my sister and our friend Jensyn. It was such a perfect getaway and definitely a much needed trip! Pacific City is one of my favorite beach towns to visit on the Oregon Coast. The next time I visit, I will definitely be staying at Headlands again!

While visiting my best friend Elle in Florida, we decided to take a road trip to New Orleans for the weekend! I have always wanted to visit New Orleans so I’m really glad I got the chance to visit with Elle. It was a super quick trip but we manage to squeeze in so much! New Orleans is such a cool city with so much culture and color around every corner. It’s one of those cities that has something beautiful to photograph everywhere. Elle has been my best friend for over 12 years but she is in the Air Force so we only get to see each other about once a year and mainly stay in touch by phone. Co-working At Centrl Office

Recently I got the chance to visit the Centrl Eastside office in downtown Portland. Centrl is a co-working shared office and work space. The offices are located on the first three floors of Slate, a housing and workplace collaboration. I’ve always loved the idea of a shared office space. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for The Urban Darling as my business grows. I love being able to work from home but sometimes it would be nice to have an office to go to everyday to separate work from my personal life.
