Exploring Montalcino: Vineyard Tour and Brunello Tasting in Tuscany

Montalcino is the kind of town that immediately feels like it was made for wine lovers. Perched atop rolling hills in Tuscany, its narrow streets are lined with wine boutiques, tasting rooms, and charming shops. It’s a beautiful place to wander, though we did wish there had been a bit more variety beyond all the wine-focused spots. The centerpiece of town is an impressive old castle, where visitors can sample wines or enjoy lunch while soaking in the views. We only had a few hours to explore before heading to Corte Pavone, so we didn’t get the chance to try one of the popular wine boutiques for a meal—but it’s definitely on our list for next time.

Montepulciano was one of those places we almost talked ourselves out of visiting. While planning our honeymoon to Tuscany—with a toddler in tow—we kept hearing people rave about it, and that made us nervous. Would it feel overrun? Too commercial? Another ā€œInstagram townā€ that didn’t live up to the hype? But from the moment we arrived, those worries completely melted away. Montepulciano felt authentic, historic, and deeply charming, the kind of place that pulls you in slowly and then doesn’t let go.

A Fall Day Wandering Around Siena During Our Honeymoon In Italy

By on February 4, 2026

Siena was one of those places that felt almost mythic in my memory — the Tuscan hills glowing in summer light, the slow swirl of history in every cobblestone. I first wandered its winding streets in my early twenties while studying in Florence, and I thought I knew it well. But this time, on our fall honeymoon with our toddler in tow, Siena revealed itself in a whole new way: softer, slower, somehow more real. With cooler air and the gentle sound of little feet on ancient stones, the city that once felt like a dream became our very tangible day of laughter, coffee, and rediscovery.

Arezzo was one of those places we didn’t plan to fall in love with — and somehow did anyway. We visited during our honeymoon with our toddler, and from the moment we arrived, it felt quietly special. The golden stone buildings, layered history, and small-town pace made it feel like a place where everyday life and beauty exist side by side. Lucky for us, we got to experience Arezzo’s incredible antique market, which made our visit feel even more special.

During our Colorado trip, we stayed at The Rathbone Hotel & Parlor Bar in Montrose—and it turned out to be a true gem. I was instantly drawn to this boutique hotel by its beautifully designed rooms and the stunning restaurant on-site. Housed in a historic Montrose building, the property has been thoughtfully renovated, blending classic charm with modern comfort. The spacious rooms, soaring ceilings, and meticulous attention to detail made our stay extra special. As luck would have it, our visit coincided with my birthday, so having such a gorgeous place to celebrate made the trip even more memorable. We had an incredibly comfortable stay and such a great overall experience that I couldn’t wait to share it with you all here on the blog!

Telluride was hands down my favorite town we visited during our Colorado trip! This gorgeous mountain town offers breathtaking views of the Rockies, a vibrant downtown filled with great shopping and dining, and a picturesque river running right through it. Once a Victorian-era mining town, Telluride gave me major Aspen vibes—but with a much more laid-back, welcoming feel. I’d love to come back one day with our family and stay for a few days to soak it all in. In this blog post, I’m excited to share where we ate, shopped, and what we explored during our time in Telluride!

We recently returned from our family trip to Colorado, where we stayed at the most charming modern, western-themed boutique hotel in Ridgway—Hotel Palomino. The property looks like a little western town straight out of a movie set! Once an old western-style building known as ā€œTrail Town,ā€ it’s been thoughtfully upcycled by its owners, who are Ridgway locals, into a fresh and stylish hospitality concept. I absolutely love what they’ve done to breathe new life into the place!

10 Family Friendly Things To Do In Detroit

By on July 15, 2025

We just returned from a trip to Detroit—somewhere I’ve been wanting to visit for quite a while. The main reason for our visit to Michigan was to attend a funeral for Andrew’s grandparents. I’m truly grateful we were able to be there, and it was really special getting to connect with more of Andrew’s family. We ended up extending our stay by a few days to explore ā€œMotor City,ā€ and even though Sage was going through a bit of a rough patch, we still managed to have a great time discovering the city and making some sweet family memories. Both Andrew and I were pleasantly surprised by how much we enjoyed Detroit. It’s such an underrated city, and we’re happy we finally got to experience it for ourselves. In this post, I’ll be sharing 10 things we did in Detroit that are family friendly (and free!).

While visiting Detroit, we ate at several amazing restaurants, which is one of our favorite things to do together. Andrew is a chef, so it’s always fun for us to try new things together, and I love finding restaurants with beautiful interiors. It’s a great way to get a “taste” for the local flavor and vibe of the locals. In this blog post, I wanted to highlight the restaurants, cafes, and coffee shops we ate at while visiting “motor city”.

We recently got back from a trip to Detroit, a city I’ve been curious about for a long time. One of the highlights of our trip was exploring Corktown and checking out the local boutiques the neighborhood had to offer. I love shopping at local boutiques, especially in new cities. They give me so much inspiration! I also feel like it’s a great way to peek into the vibe of the people who live there. In this blog post, I want to highlight three incredible Detroit shops!
