There’s something special about packing up the car on a whim and heading somewhere new, especially as a family. Our spontaneous trip to Santa Fe turned into one of those unexpectedly perfect getaways—equal parts adventure and relaxation. From the moment we arrived at El Rey Court, we felt like we had discovered a place that truly captured the spirit of the Southwest while still being welcoming and comfortable for traveling with a toddler.
For Andrew’s birthday, we took a trip to Sedona and stayed at The Wilde Resort & Spa. Andrew got to do some fishing (his birthday wish) and mama got to squeeze in some “me time” at the spa, pool, and fitness center. The ambiance and the setting were so peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect escape. Surrounded by the stunning red rock formations, The Wilde Resort offered the exact kind of serene getaway we needed before our upcoming wedding. From relaxing by the pool to indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment, every corner of the resort had something to offer.
For Andrew’s birthday this year, we planned a special getaway to Sedona—a trip full of adventure, breathtaking views, and family moments we’ll always remember. Sedona’s famous red rocks and scenic trails set the perfect backdrop for celebrating Andrew, while Sage added his own little doses of excitement (and adorable mischief) along the way. From hiking among towering rock formations to exploring charming shops and strolling along peaceful canyon trails, every part of the trip felt carefully curated for fun, connection, and just the right amount of adventure. It was a chance to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, and make birthday memories that we’ll treasure for years to come.
Telluride was hands down my favorite town we visited during our Colorado trip! This gorgeous mountain town offers breathtaking views of the Rockies, a vibrant downtown filled with great shopping and dining, and a picturesque river running right through it. Once a Victorian-era mining town, Telluride gave me major Aspen vibes—but with a much more laid-back, welcoming feel. I’d love to come back one day with our family and stay for a few days to soak it all in. Joshua Tree had been on my radar for a while thanks to all the unique boutiques and desert charm I kept seeing on social media. When we finally made it out there—during a jam-packed California trip—we only had one day to explore, but we made the most of it! From browsing adorable local shops to checking out some must-see spots around town, we packed a lot into a short visit. We’ve been doing so much traveling together as a family this year, which we absolutely love, although traveling with a baby certainly comes with its challenges! We just got back from our trip to Detroit, which was our first flight this year, and we have another trip coming up to Colorado in June, which we’ll also be flying for. We drove to our other travel destinations earlier this year, so we were able to bring a bit more with us. But when you’re traveling through an airport, it’s definitely easier to pack lighter. This inspired me to share our minimalist travel essentials for flying with a baby. I hope this blog post is helpful for other jet-setting families!
I have always wanted to check out the town of Joshua Tree after seeing some of the cool local boutiques the town had to offer on social media. When Andrew and I started talking about doing a California trip, I knew I wanted to squeeze Joshua Tree in! The itinerary for our week long trip was going to be super packed, so we only had a day to explore. Even so, we were able to stop by some really cute boutiques, and see some fun sights. We just got back from our first big trip as a family to California about a week ago. Our first stop was Joshua Tree! I wanted to explore the town a little more, and I also wanted to take Andrew to Joshua Tree National Park. I had already been there before several years ago with my family, and thought it was so beautiful. We were on a really tight schedule, but we had just enough time to drive through Joshua Tree National Park and stop at a few spots!
My parent’s invited us to come with them to Payson in northern Arizona for a hiking trip! The cooler weather was super nice for a few days, and I’m glad we were able to do a few more hikes before it’s too hot here in the Phoenix area. One of the hikes we went on was a total of 8 miles with Andrew carrying Sage in our Ergobaby the whole time! We were both very tired after this trip and needed several days to recover when we got back home. My favorite part of the trip was the epic view from the rim where we shot these photos of our little family! It was nice spending some family time on this quick getaway.

I have been sharing these outfit round ups of the looks I’ve worn during my trips this year and I hope you guys have been enjoying them. It can be hard trying to figure out what to wear while traveling because you need to be comfortable but you also want to look cute! I focus first on what the weather is going to be like and then gather pieces in my closet that I can wear several ways with a little mix and match. You’ll see what I mean in this post!
