I can’t believe it’s been almost a year that Indio has been in our lives! We adopted Indio from Forevergreen Farm Labradoodles when he was 2 months old. He was my dream puppy and has made me the happiest dog mom (besides a little naughtiness ;P). I wanted to celebrate his first birthday by sharing some photos of him throughout the year. It’s crazy to see how much hew grew every month!
I can’t believe it’s been a month since our big move across the country to Nashville! In some ways it seems like its been longer than that, but it also seems like the time has flown by. We are absolutely loving Music City so far and I can’t wait to continue exploring the area! The main reason Schyler and I decided to move from Portland to Nashville was so that we could start saving for a home. The cost of living in general and the cost of homes is much less expensive here so we will be able to buy a home much sooner then we would have back in the PNW. I would love to start a family within the next few years and I can’t wait to start the next chapter of our life!
I’ve always been an Elvis fan so when we decided to take a road trip to Memphis from our new home, Nashville, I knew that we HAD to visit Graceland! The Graceland mansion + estate was the home of the late and great Elvis Presley. When visiting Graceland, you can actually take a tour of his home and the property. We were lucky enough to score VIP tickets to see not only the mansion but his collection of costumes, gold records, cars, boats, planes and more Elvis memorobilia! It was such an awesome experience so I really wanted to share it in a blog post with you guys. For those of you looking to visit Graceland, this post should give you a lot of ideas about what to expect and what you shouldn’t miss!
This weekend we took our second road trip since moving to Nashville to Birmingham, Alabama! It was only about a 2 1/2 hour drive from home so we decided to do a quick day trip. We had such a fun day! Birmingham had a ton of cute shops, restaurants, and neighborhoods to explore. In this blog post I’m sharing all the spots we visited on our day trip!
It’s been a little over a month since we moved to Nashville and it’s definitely taking a while to finish decorating our new apartment! We’ve had a lot of travel opportunities and between work and everything else, decorating has been on the back burner. We had to leave most of our furniture and decor back in Portland so we are starting over from scratch! I’ve made some home decor purchases from Amazon recently and I wanted to share them with you guys in this post.
I’ve said it before but I will say it again, Portland has an AMAZING coffee scene! There are so many cute coffee shops but I wanted to share a few of my favorite, very Insta-worthy spots! I would have loved to include more coffee shops because Portland has so many great ones, but these are the ones I had time to include before our move to Nashville!
We decided to take our first road trip since moving to Nashville to Memphis, TN, about a 3 hour drive from Nashville! Both Schyler and I were really interested in visiting this city because of the music history there. Blues music originated in Memphis so there is a ton of music influence everywhere you go there and of course it was the home of the famous rock star Elvis Presley! We had such a fun time in Memphis and I found tons of cool spots for photos while visiting the city which I’m of course sharing in this blog post with you guys.
We just moved in to the most beautiful, brand new apartment building in Nashville! As you guys know, we moved across the country from Portland, OR so we had to leave all of our furniture at home and moved with only the essentials in the back of our car. Luckily, I was able to bring a few decor pieces to start with but the decorating process is definitely going to take awhile. The first room that is close to being done is my bedroom so I thought I would show you guys the progress!

I’ve written a series about my favorite coffee shops in Portland, OR (read here!) and a few street guides (here!), but I’ve never done a compilation of my favorite spots for Instagram photos so I figured it was time I did just that!
My sister and I visited Las Vegas for Intersect Festival this past December and while we were there I thought it would be fun to shoot some Valentine’s themed photos for my Instagram! There are so many cute, vintage chapels, clubs, and motels in the Fremont area of Vegas. This is the area that used to be the main strip before the new strip was built! There were tons of great photo spots in this area.
