We decided to wake up early 4th of July morning to go on a walk in a nearby Pittsburgh neighborhood before it got to hot! We are spending the rest of the day indoors eating some yummy deserts + snack foods, playing games, listening to records and staying cool. I got a little patriotic and made a 4th of July inspired cake with white frosting and red and blue stars! Also, how cute is Indio’s little denim bow? I love our coordinated red, white and blue looks 😉
We celebrated my 29th birthday this week with a city outing, games, and cake of course! 😉 I can’t believe I’m only one year away from 30, which is both exciting and a little frightening to me at the same time… I’m looking forward to our destination wedding next year (we are shooting for late spring, more on that soon) and hopefully starting our family next year! These discussions have made me reflect on myself and what I want for my life more than ever.

I had a ton of fun styling these looks with thrifted purses and new sustainable pieces from ABLE and Grey State. I popped in some red and blue accents for that patriotic feel and channeled some retro vibes as well. My parents retired in the Phoenix metro several years ago but we hadn’t gotten to explore in the city during any of my visits. During my Phoenix visit, I was able to meet my parent’s horse Maverick! My parents retired in the Phoenix area 3+ years ago now and board a horse nearby. Growing up on a farm in Eastern Washington, my parents had a ton of horses, so I grew up training and riding horses. Since graduating high school, I’ve always lived in a city so I don’t really get the chance to ride horses often. It was so fun getting the chance to ride again after 5+ years!
While visiting my parents who retired in the Phoenix metro area, I was able to visit several coffee shops and cafes! I thought I would share the spots I visited for others who may be planning a trip to Phoenix or even moving there. Trust me, these spots are super fun and have such cute aesthetics! Schyler and I have been trying to catch the cherry blossoms in bloom here in Pittsburgh for weeks now! It seemed like we were waiting forever, we had such a long winter here in Pittsburgh, but we finally got to enjoy them this Easter on the Pittsburgh waterfront. The view of the Pittsburgh cityscape through the blossoms was breathtaking!
I thought I would share this look from a coffee date with my fiance Schyler last week! We grabbed my favorite drink, an iced oat milk vanilla latte, from my favorite Pittsburgh coffee shop, KLVN Coffee Lab. I loved this casual outfit for a day of exploring our neighborhood. It has a bit of a masculine look to it, especially with this mens vintage leather Averix jacket that my dad bought me at an antique store near Portland, OR. I paired it with my classic black Doc Martens, a vintage band tee, and my comfiest Levi jeans. My worn in baseball cap completes the look!
We just celebrated Indio’s 3rd birthday a few days ago! It’s always a busy time because a few days after Indio’s birthday is our anniversary. We laughed and cried while looking at Indio’s birthday photos over the years and old photos of him when he was a puppy. I can’t believe how fast the time has flown, it’s so crazy! Being his dog mommy has definitely been challenging at times, but very rewarding.
